"I can honestly say the Banyoles experience is truly awesome. So much so, that I've returned time and time again, and I have never yet failed to be inspired by the magic of Banyoles. It is a beautiful setting. I finished my first camp feeling tested, but more importantly, fully inspired and motivated. I had made firm friends and I had found that new sense of purpose and direction in my training routines. It was definitely what I had been looking for. I am delighted to say the camps have gone from strength to strength. The excellent facilities offered by the rowing club, together with the biking facilities make it a truly great training location. The sessions are carefully planned and are certainly geared up to suit individual levels of fitness and ability. The group workouts are great fun. Everyone supports and encourages each other. There is a healthy sense of competition too! And what could be better after a great day's training than sipping a cold beer in the hotel bar, relaxing and admiring the view of that magical lake! I am grateful to Concept2 and Lyonheart Sports Training for all they do to make the Banyoles Camps so special. I have found them all to be testing, rewarding, motivational, great fun and - truly awesome! Yes, I will definitely be back for more and I'm already signed up for September." - Anne Yates June 2006

"If you want an ideal place to get some triathlon training go to Banyoles in Catalonia. For swimming you have a choice of several 25mt pools and the Girona 50mt pool where you mostly get a lane to yourself, in the summer I believe there are organised open water swimming in the lake at Banyoles which is also used by international rowing teams. For the bike its clear why Mr L Armstrong chose this area to base himself, from pan flat roads around the coast, rolling hills that surround Banyoles to mountain climbs that will challenge the best. All in stunning country side. Running is a dream, you can run the well maintained path around the lake, about 6k, and there is also lots of x country running in the area. For things to do for the family and days off, the area is great, from Barcelona 90k away, Costa Blanca 40k, Girona 15k which is a beautiful Medieval city. Nearer to Banyoles are many small medieval villages and Banyoles itself is really nice. The weather is also great, we stayed from mid January to the end of February and it only rained 3 times and the sun shone most of the time. The area is well supported for the needs of sports people with several training camps, local shops and organisations, I got a lot of help from Keith Lyon of Lyonheart in organising my training along with Agenda Gestio Esportiva. You can fly direct to Girona from most UK airports. Couldn’t fault the place or the people….. Brilliant!!" - Peter Dunbar March 2007
